With the advent of the information age and knowledge based economy, creation and management of intangible assets have been critical in value creation and viability of universities. Here, environmental transitions have placed the demand for Transparency, accountability and flexibility. Answering these new demands requires new types of resources and new methods of management. Although considerable number of researches have studied the IC in general, but there are few works which have reached an integrated cognition of university IC. In this regard, The model of University intellectual capital, based on the review of existing theories and practical experiences in the area of IC, is employed in one of the top universities in Iran. The method used is descriptive and administered through a survey. The society of the study includes 300 faculties of Sharif University of Technology, 103 of which make the sample. The Measuring instrument is a questionnaire on IC. Data is analyzed by tests of Inferential statistics such as t-test , Multivariate analysis of variance test, and Friedman test. The results of this study indicate that human capital in the Sharif University of Technology is higher than average, but the other three components of intellectual capital which include innovation capital, organizational capital and relational capital are lower than average. So, the overall situation of intellectual capital is evaluated at a lower level than average.
