A survey of commercialization barriers of university research results in different majors of fundamental sciences presented in universities of Tehran. ihej 2014; 6 (4) :83-106

onsidering the Knowledge - based economy, the aim of this study is to identify and investigate obstacles to commercialization of academic research results. The approachability to this research is a mixture - making, combines quantitative - qualitative method. In the qualitative phase main themes, extracted by thematic method. Quantitative method is descriptive and it is a kind of correlation. The population of a quantitative phase is all 275 MS and Ph.D. students of technology 160 of whom were selected by Cluster Sampling. Data are collected by two questionnaires which their coefficient Cronbach's alphabet reliability both are 0.891 and 0.908 respectively. Barriers of university research results with its six aspects, have been determined: the university's structure, organizational culture of universities, policy and strategy of universities, economic and industrial development, political and administrative structure of the country and socio - cultural structure of the country. Commercialization barriers have been determined by confirmatory and exploratory factor analysis and analysis rate of commercialization by confirmatory factor. The results obtained from the analysis of the hypothesis are: The hypothesis related to: university's structure, economic and industrial development, political and administrative structure of the country and socio – cultural hypo these shave been approved and other hypotheses have been rejected.
